JUST A FEW QUICK WORDS

It's been soooo long since I've a post but it's because Blogger takes such a terribly long time to upload photos. So I'm just going to do a quick update and look for a new blog site. I'm leaning towards a website with an attached blog...so stay tunedI love this picture of Ceara, she is just so beautiful and a wonderful mom. Seriously you wouldn't want to cross her and mess with her baby. For that matter they all protect little Fin, alpacas included (okay not the goats).
Simon thinks he's her dad and she does look just like him but no, his 'you know whats' are in a landfill somewhere. The male that escaped and jumped Ceara has the same colouring as Fin and so does Ceara's sire so it makes sense.
This little critter is amazing and we absolutely love her! Who knew that we, of all people, would be into raising llamas. And we love our alpacas but if we'd known how cool llamas are we'd only have them. Wonderful animals. I love to walk them on the beach.
So as of 3 weeks ago Ceara and Fin are now ours and who knows what will happen in the future. There is just so much potential with where we live and what we could do if we put our minds to it. But considering it's just me learning to handle these guys we'll just have to see what happens.
Fin is only a month old in this picture, she's much bigger and MUCH stronger now. I tried to towel her off yesterday and let's just say, "She won." She spends a lot of her day harassing all the other animals in the field. Her favorite pastime is to wait until one of the alpacas lay down and then either jump over or on them. It's really funny.

Christmas came & went, a quiet one this year. Jamie, Johnny & Sullivan came up on the 26th and other than that we didn't do too much. It was nice though.

This is my new farm vehicle, Pearle. I've wanted a truck for as long as I can remember because I'm always gardening and lugging stuff around. Now we have the acreage I'm hauling straw and hay as well so this just made sense.
We needed bark mulch to put down in the chicken coop which was becoming nothing but mud due to all the rain. I went to Home Depot and it was $6.00 for a bag, I went to the log sort and they filled the entire box (full size) for $5.00 tax in! Very cool. It was also pretty neat putting it in 4 wheel drive and climbing this mountain of mulch. Sunk right up to the floor boards but the guy working the loader kept yelling, "You're fine! It's a Toyota!"
Can't wait to go get a load of top soil!
