July 24th, 2009 Glacier Tour for Pat's Birthday

What a Blast!!
A few months back Jim & I were at a 'Centennial of Flight' dinner/auction at the base and at the end of it all Jim announced that he had bought a flight for two, in a float plane, over the Comox Glacier for my sister Pat and myself for her birthday. For any on you who know my sister she is absolutely amazing and I adore her AND this is something she has wanted to do her entire life. Today we did it and it was truly amazing. I had been over the glacier before in a Buffalo with Randy & Pearl but to see Pat so excited made my day or year or more. And the best part was that there was such a low tide (a minus tide actually) that we couldn't take off from the river so because of that, and the fact that we were his last flight that day, he landed up in the mountains on Osh(something) lake and gave us about a 1/2 hour to wander about. So it ended up our one flight was 2 hours!! Can't beat that especially when Jim got it for less than the price for one person. Gotta like that! So here are a few shots but they aren't great because the window was really scratched. I have a few others with my slr but it was just easier to use my G10.

crevasses, this picture doesn't do them justice

ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE

There really are no words for this picture other than the man absolutely cracks me up. He and Darcee were the first ones in this year, Darcee being the FIRST one in. I chickened out not because of cold water but at the thought of this big, old body being seen in a bathing suit, I still had fun though. The weather is great and the tides are perfect this week so I will more than likely be in tomorrow.

And we aren't the only ones that are hot, our poor old alpacas and Simon are just cooking. We got them a bigger wading pool today and that made a few of them happy. Wally and Diego are happy with the sprinkler but I can't leave it on because we're on a well. I let them get soaked and then they just hang around the pool.
Don't they just have the strangest feet? This is Scooby's, he lays right down in the pool, unfortunately he's like a sponge so you fill it a lot.
This was Chris and Darcee's idea of a seaweed wrap, much cheaper than the spa.

I adore these guys

Brenna and Casey have more fun than any of us.
