A Victoria Weekend

Last weekend we were at Jim's last AVICC meeting (Annual Vancouver Island & Coastal Communities) in Langford at Bear Mountain, otherwise known as Bare Mountain. Our accommodations were beautiful but as I said to Jim Saturday morning when we woke up, " I've never been at a hotel where I don't want to look out the window." And he said he felt the same. We were expecting a hotel on a golf course...not. Everywhere you look is development. Cranes, condos, houses, devastation, very sad. They just don't know when to quit.

So from there we were off to Victoria to see Jamie and Johnny's new house. It is soooo cute!! But they have done so much work in a very short time (like a week). John must be so tired I don't even know how he's functioning. Jamie did as much as she could which turned out to be way too much. We ended up calling the mid-wife and she basically was told she is to do nothing! "If you feel like you 'have' to do something, then walk out in the backyard and sit in a lawn chair. That's it!" Too funny. I have fallen in love with Uta, the midwife. A very cool lady.
Seriously, their house is great. It has a ' Johnny & Jamie got married' feeling about it. (that one is for the adorable April who sang it at the wedding) Our little Watzit is going to have a great first home. After the weekend Jim had his other eye surgery and it went really well. He is so pleased and he really is quite cute without his glasses. Having to spend the weekend wearing his old glasses with only one lens was fun for me too. Watching the very young, very gorgeous, Bear Mountain waitresses try to be polite and not mention that the guy ordering 2 double rum & coke, had only one lens in his glasses was most enjoyable...
Back to packing...

That is freaking hilarious about the one lens in his glasses thing. I can only imagine how much you laughed at him... Oh god, that would have been a good time!
