GARDEN IN PROGRESS
Now it's just keeping everything growing until September 8th!
I'VE GOT A DATE!!
Well I've finally got a date for the first surgery, June 22nd, that should make for a fun weekend, eh? It's actually going to be a long haul, two weeks doing absolutely nothing (and I am not a good sitter), the foot has to be raised and 4-6 weeks with no weight bearing. I just hope things heal up really well considering the wedding is in the backyard September 8th!! I'm so excited about that, can't wait to see if we can actually get 100 people back there! The decision was finally made yesterday by John and his mom and I, and I think it will be beautiful!! Plus Jamie gets to get married under her willow tree!!! (and I get to buy more plants...) John's mom, Sue (nice name) is a real sweetie, now I know where Johnny gets it.
As for the yard it's coming along beautifully, should be interesting crawling around getting the weeds in July. I have certainly had lots of visitors out there. Deer, who love eating my roses. Bunnies who love eating my impatiens and raccoons who love eating my fish! It's okay though, the yard still looks good and I just happen to love all the critters! I'll post some pictures later, Blogger is having some issues and I have to head out.

May Long Weekend
Ahhh, another weekend done. Saturday we did the opening for the Highland Games in Courtenay. Not a bad day but it took me about 4 hours to warm up. Jim was all dressed up in his kilt looking very dapper and didn't feel the cold at all. Never ceases to amaze me.
Sunday we decided to grab Pat and Bob and go hunt down brother Jim who was camping out at Driftwood Bay on Buttle Lake (not far out of Campbell River). As you can see it was not very nice and to top it off Jim & Joanne were out fishing and we never did find them. Pat will kill me if she ever sees this picture.
It sure is beautiful country though but the logging is everywhere, so sad to see. They don't even leave a buffer anymore. Just level everything right to the highway.
As you can see the sun did manage to peak through for a bit. Jim found this old car down one of the many logging roads. Reminds me of Harry Potter...
Then the rains really hit on the way home by Upper Campbell Lake. It was clear in Comox though and we had a beautiful evening and awoke today to clear blue skies and warmer weather. We headed off to the parade in Cumberland and did our duties for the day.
Glad that one's over! I hate being in parades!!

WEIGHT...
So week #2 and I thought I'd blown it!! We had a very busy, very social weekend with the sun being out and all...The whole Henry Bay thing!!! Trust me, for most of you that read this you know exactly what I mean!
But, another couple of pounds so here's hoping!! Today was good and tomorrow will be good cause Jim has Rotary but then the weekend comes and it's a long weekend and that means boating and boating means Happy Hours, and Happy Hours means drinks and drinks mean you let your evil-self talk you into having one little pupu (not poopoo, too funny, thanks Carla), yup that's always the way, one little pupu...so sad..........
It's all good, it will come off, it's just going to be slow for the'Old Woman' and then I'll have my surgeries and then I will be able to run again!! Hell, it would be nice just to be able to walk again without the pain!! I'm starting to think I'm a real whimp.
Enough of that crap. I tell you these darn blogs are like diaries!
You guys must be getting so sick of them but tough. Trust me, once you start it's addictive! It opens a whole new world up to you. I've been looking at these little 'dickie birds' around here my whole life and they basically looked the same. Well, start really looking and then get a bird book and try to identify them. Not as easy as you would think. And once you've got looking down...try listening, so amazing, so beautiful.

WARMER DAY, BETTER RIDE
MEET THE TWINS
Finally a weekend of sunshine!!! It was wonderful. I spent 2 days shoveling 3 yards of dirt and I have to say the yard is starting to really look nice. I can hardly move but what the heck, next to photography gardening is my passion. I'll get out their today and get some pictures.
So yesterday we met Darcee and Chris' twins! Very cute and really active.
We couldn't come close to keeping up to them.

I don't think Darcee has any fingernails left, she was pretty nervous to start but got the hang of it really fast. The one thing they will be doing though is coming to the shop and getting booties, gloves and full length wetsuits. It will probably a week or so until Darce can actually feel her feet!

So far to go....
I have to start this by saying, "I LOVE YOU KYLE MARGENAU!" You made my day, okay, my year, with your comment on my last post. I can even hear your voice! Thank you, Kiddo.
Okay, one week under my belt and my first weigh-in, a whole 3.4 lbs...I really thought it would be better even though it's supposed to be only 2 lbs. Oh well, better next week.
So enough of that! Guess what? I've been taking pictures of birds, imagine that. But there is a story with this one. I was walking with my sister Pat and she was saying she hasn't seen a Goldfinch in years. I got home that day and what should go flying by me but a little finch. I grabbed my camera but no luck. Then every day or so I would see one. I decided that maybe if I could entice them to a feeder maybe I could actually get a shot. First I tried the traditional bird-bell but nothing, then I was at good old Canadian Tire and what should I find but 'Goldfinch' food. Took 48 hrs and they there were! I am now a confirmed small bird lover! They are so beautiful. We have 3 breeding pairs and a few youngsters. So cool!!
So, needless to say, Auntie Pat is thrilled!! Made her day, okay, year!
Oh, and by the way, those of you who don't know...LUKE IS WALKING!!!! Poor, poor Lindsay and Kyle, the devil is unleashed!!! I remember when I encouraged Dann to walk and he stood up and walked at 7 1/2 months! With Jamie, we just kept pushing her down...yup, that worked...

I GUESS IT'S TIME TO UPDATE THE BLOG...
Well, this is my new look. Or, atleast that's the way I see myself so I've decided to get off my butt (very large butt) and do something about it. So! I joined Weight Watchers! I weighed in last Wednesday and tomorrow I will have my first week under my belt (so to speak). I figured having to get on a scale in front of 100 people would be a good incentive. So here's hoping!I've spent the last year sitting around whining about my feet and waiting for the phone call regarding the surgery and then it hit me! Maybe my poor old feet will feel a lot better if they don't have to pack and huge butt around, duh!! Actually, I always knew this but just love to eat. So here goes, once again. It's going to be slow, about 2 pounds a week but hopefully by Jamie & John's wedding I will look hot! Old, but hot!
Wish me luck. I'll keep you posted.
